This course builds on the knowledge and skills learned in the Foundations of Design course. Students investigate the knowledge, skills, trends, demands and standards associated with the textile/apparel design and merchandising industry. Students examine design elements and principles as well as marketing and retail strategies. Students use technology to deliver design methods and explore career opportunities in the industry. Engaging hands-on class projects and relevant site visits enhance students' knowledge of the textile/apparel design and merchandising industry.
