In this course, students will use traditional and contemporary media to explore typography, iconography, illustration as methods of visual communication and creative problem-solving. Students will explore techniques to communicate visual representation, ideas, and narrative by creating and combining symbols, images and text. Writing, academic language, and critical thinking skills are developed through artist statements, critiques, and the close reading of images as text.
