Students develop skills that will enable them to perform music at the Grade V to VI level of difficulty. The emphasis will be on the study of literature composed for string and/or full orchestras dating back to the 12th century, and up through the present day. Additional experiences may include athletic band, solo/chamber and musical theatre performance opportunities. In addition to performing music, creating and responding activities are included. Public performances during and after school may be required to meet course objectives. This course may be repeated unlimited times for credit. Prerequisite: Symphonic Orchestra A/B OR based on an audition, experience in previous ensembles and instrumentation needs, OR permission of instructor based on audition.
