Biomedical Sciences Project Lead the Way (PLTW Inc.)

In the Project Lead the Way Biomedical Sciences program, students examine the processes, structures, and interactions of the human body and step into the roles of biomedical professions, exploring and offering solutions to real-life medical challenges. PLTW Biomedical sciences students use the tools used by professionals in hospitals and labs. Course content includes physiology, genetics, microbiology, public health, and the social, legal, and ethical issues surrounding technological advances related to biomedical science. This program prepares students to take advantage of the high demand career opportunities available in health care and science, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in postsecondary biomedical sciences and the workforce. Students who successfully complete the full program and earn the required score on end-of-course assessments are eligible for college credit through Stevenson University. Students who pass the national certification exam will be credentialed as a biotechnician assistant.
